Welcome to the IFCASL Project homepage!
IFCASL (Individualized Feedback for Computer-Assisted Spoken Language Learning) is an ongoing project conducted in partnership between the University of Saarland in Saarbrücken, Germany and LORIA in Nancy, France.
The overall aim of the project is to gain an order of magnitude in the usability and efficiency of computer-assisted language learning software by adapting content, feedback and exercises to individual learners in the speech dimension of a foreign language. This will be achieved by integrating the production and perception of the learner’s own speech and focusing on the French-German language pair, in both directions.
For more information on the project's aims, see the project abstract.
The project is funded by the Agence National de la Recherche (ANR) and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). Work began in April 2013 and is slated to continue for three years from that date.
